The Five Seasons

I knew I wanted to work on a circular format for my seasons of the year paintings, so I stretched up four round canvases or tondos. As I worked on them I realized that one of the four seasons seemed to have two distinct faces. Early spring feels more like winter, while late spring is summery. So, I stretched up another tondo, and then there were five.

A Natural Fit

I always wondered what my paintings would look like if I took them up to the beach. Pretty good, as it turns out. Although it didn’t last long (just a sunny afternoon in late autumn), my Five Seasons paintings never looked better. It was like they were made for this.
